Support for Attending Meetings
The AAS announces a travel award to supplement attendance at the AAS Annual Meeting or the International Arachnological Congress Meeting (during Congress years). Awards of up to $500 for the annual meeting and $1,000 for the Congress are made to:
- Undergraduates and graduate students who are presenting authors on a paper or poster. Students may only receive one award during the course of each degree.
- Retired arachnologists to help them attend meetings; funding for these individuals is provided by a generous gift from the Schlinger Foundation.
Applicants must be members of AAS and have a demonstrated financial need that cannot be met by other sources.
Important note: The AAS is unable to provide travel support for researchers, emertus arachnologists or students who are from U.S. embargoed countries such as Cuba.
However, the AAS is able to provide sponsored membership to researchers and students from developing nations that are embargoed. Information about sponsored memberships can be found by going to the Developing Nations' Membership link.
